AFCA advertising key Investment and Advice role

The Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA) has begun advertising to fill the position of Lead Ombudsman, Investments and Advice which has been held by Shail Singh.
The external dispute resolution (EDR) body has advertised the position as a five-year board-appointed position with the option of renewal at the end of the term.
Singh has been the acting Lead Ombudsman Investment and Advice for the past 14 months.
The AFCA advertisement seeks people with relevant legal qualifications and a significant track record of achievement at a senior executive level with the Investment and Advice industry or a tribunal, EDR scheme, regulatory agency or related business entity or in private practice.
It says the successful candidate will be responsible for leading AFCA’s approach to I&A disputes and engaging with external stakeholders across the financial services industry and various consumer groups to champion effective dispute resolution practices and financial fairness.
