FNW launches Women Empowering Wealth scholarship

As a result of the success of Financial Newswire’s Women in Wealth Awards, the publication’s parent, CEA Communications Pty Ltd is launching the Women Empowering Wealth scholarship which will be awarded in 2027.
CEA Communications managing director and managing editor of Financial Newswire, Mike Taylor said the Women Empowering Wealth scholarship will be allied to the Awards and will be open to applications from women completing financial services-related degrees and those pursuing doctorates or similar.
He said the scholarship, valued at up to $10,000 in the first year, will take the form of a grant as a means of ensuring it is accessible by women no matter where in Australia they live.
Taylor said the scholarship had been suggested to Financial Newswire by a number of Women in Wealth judges and that he wanted to particularly acknowledge Marianne Perkovic and Linda Elkins.
“We are backing the Women Empowering Wealth scholarship because we recognise that we take a lot from the financial services sector and it feels like time to give back,” he said.
“The scholarship is about empowering women to advance in financial services so we’ve also decided to reflect that objective in the broader awards by retitling them the Women Empowering Wealth Awards,” Taylor said.
He said the structure and details of the scholarship will be announced at the Women Empowering Wealth Awards on 4 June.
