Former adviser convicted for falsifying documents

A former financial adviser who admitted to falsifying company documents has been convicted in the Adelaide Magistrates Court.
The Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) said that the former adviser, Tai Thanh Nguyen, who was permanently banned in 2019, had pleaded guilty in the Adelaide Magistrates Court to two counts of falsifying company books.
It said Nguyen was convicted on both counts and placed on a $1,000 two year good behaviour bond.
Nguyen admitted to falsifying seven documents relating to two of his clients by inserting client signatures and by adding dates to documents. He falsified documents between February 2010 and December 2018.
Nguyen’s offending occurred while he has an authorised representative of GWM Adviser Services Limited and Interprac Financial Planning Pty Ltd.
