FSC adds new Board directors
The Financial Services Council (FSC) has appointed Insignia Financial chief executive, Renato Mota, and Country Head for Asset Management Australia and New Zealand of UBS Asset Management, Alison Telfer, as directors to its Board.
Mota and Telfer bring over 40 years of experience between them to the roles, with the former responsible for implementing Insignia Financial’s transformation strategy and the latter working with clients and the wider industry at UBS Asset Management to deliver more positive financial outcomes.
Mota has previously worked for Rothschild and NAB in corporate finance roles focusing on mergers and acquisitions, while Telfer spent time as BlackRock Asset Management’s Chief Operating Officer for Australasia and the executive sponsor for BlackRock’s Philanthropic Committee and Women’s Initiative Australasia.
“Renato and Alison bring to the Board extensive knowledge and experience that further strengthens the FSC’s contribution to the national debate to the benefit of financial services consumers,” David Bryant, Chairman of the FSC, said.
“Renato and Alison’s appointment reflects the senior industry leadership the FSC brings to help the Government and regulators solve common public policy challenges.
“Renato and Alison share the FSC’s commitment to a more competitive, efficient, and growing financial services sector that delivers high quality products for Australian consumers.”
Mota and Telfer both said they were excited to begin working with the FSC Board to provide better financial outcomes.
“I am pleased to take on the role as director of the FSC Board as we work together to improve the long-term financial wellbeing for all Australians,” Mota said.
“I look forward to working with the FSC Board to support representation of our members and to shape a world class financial services industry that serves all Australians well,” Telfer said.
