Independent alternative asset management firm, Jameson Capital, has appointed its first Chief Operating Officer (COO), private equity and finance veteran Philippa Davies.

Davies returns to Australia after eight years in London to lead Jameson Capital’s finance division, including compliance management and investor reporting, and assist founding directors, Nick Browne and Jonathan Webster, to drive the firm’s future growth.

Most recently during her time in London, Davis was Chief of Staff at private equity firm Terra Firm, where she ran the day-to-day operations of the firm and worked with senior management to implement strategic and operational changes in the portfolio businesses.

“I’m thrilled to join Jameson Capital as the first Chief Operating Officer as it embarks on the next stage of growth,” Davies said regarding her new role.

“The firm has a global mindset and long-term view on investments which I find very attractive. I was also drawn to their strong international network and experience, and local knowledge to create unique investment opportunities.

“It’s an exciting time to be relocating back to Australia and joining the firm. There are plenty of opportunities in the Australian market and we also have a strong pipeline of deals. I’m looking forward to working with the team and drawing on my expertise.”

Davis also spent 14 years with KPMG Australia and the UK, working as an Audit Manager in Melbourne, in London’s private equity team and in a leadership role for London’s deal strategy and value creation team.

“We are excited to welcome Philippa to the firm as our first Chief Operating Officer. Her experience in private equity and senior finance across Australia and the UK will be invaluable,” Webster said.

This comes after the Australian real estate, private equity and private credit-focused firm promoted former Senior Analyst Myles Hornbuckle to Investment Management Director to grow its future strategy.
