Rob Prugue has been appointed as the inaugural Non Executive Director on the Board of Lakehouse Capital, a subsidiary of investing service and guidance provider The Motley Fool.

Prugue brings over 30 years of experience in global investing, consulting and management to the role and will join existing Board directors in leading the growth of the Sydney-based firm.

Prugue previously spent five years as Head of Research at asset consulting firm, van Eyk, and was recently Lazard Asset Management’s Asia Pacific chief executive for 15 years.

“I am delighted that Rob is joining the Lakehouse Capital Board. It is evidence of the growth of the business and the serious commitment we take to strong governance,” Donny Buchanan, CIO and co-founder of Lakehouse Capital, said.

“We already have a highly experienced Board but the addition of Rob will bolster our insights around investment research, distribution and back office governance and standards.

“We look forward to adding Rob’s ideas and perspectives to the Board and in turn continuing to grow both our clients’ investments and the Lakehouse business.”

Prugue also sits on the Board of People Reaching Out to People (PROP) and is a member of the Audit and Risk Committee of Suicide Prevention Australia.

“I’m thrilled to be joining the board of Lakehouse Capital whose team and culture, along with their parent company, The Motley Fool, I have long admired and respected,” Prugue said.

“Lakehouse is at a growth stage of its business and I look forward to contributing to its fiduciary oversight, as well as to the ongoing strategy and growth of the business.”
