Principal appoints MD of global FI

Principal Asset Management has appointed Michael Goosay as managing director of global fixed income and portfolio manager on select strategies.
In his new role, Goosay will build upon the firm’s focus on multi-sector fixed income investment strategies and solutions to meet a wide range of personalized investor objectives, the firm said.
Principal said its fixed income platform (AUM of $135.7 billion) had capabilities which spanned all major fixed income sectors with investment centres worldwide and over 110 investment professionals.
Goosay will also take on leadership responsibilities across the platform, including being named as a portfolio manager on Principal Fixed Income’s flagship short-term income, core, core plus and US/global multi-sector strategies and associated products.
He brings more than 25 years of investment industry experience and joined from Goldman Sachs Asset Management where he spent 14 years as head of global pensions and multi-sector fixed income portfolio management.
Prior to this role, Goosay held leadership positions at Drake Management, JPMorgan Chase, Prudential Financial, and GE Asset Management.
