The Australian arm of global investment management firm, Franklin Templeton, has appointed Michael Bowen as a Sales Director to take the lead on several New South Wales-based accounts.

Reporting to Felicity Walsh, Head of Sales at Franklin Templeton Australia, Bowen brings over 15 years of experience as a sales professional and 10 years in the financial services industry. He will be responsible for accounts including private banks and independent financial advisers.

Bowen’s most recent role was Vice President, Wholesale and Private Wealth for PineBridge Investments, where he directed distribution services across a range of clients including wholesale advice channels, independent high net worth practices, private banks and brokers.

“We are delighted to have someone of Michael’s calibre and experience join our growing team,” Walsh said.

“He is a great fit for our culture, which revolves around active engagement with our clients and being passionate about helping advisers find the right investment solutions for their clients.

“He will provide critical depth to the team as we continue to offer an expanded suite of investment strategies, including the growth of alternatives capabilities.”

Prior to PineBridge Investments, Bowen also held senior roles in business development at Shed Enterprises and the Rainmaker Group.

“Our experienced Distribution team are well positioned to assist our clients in creating sustainable businesses,” Matthew Harrison, Managing Director of Franklin Templeton Australia and New Zealand, said.

“Michael’s addition will only enhance our position and provide further support for our clients. While the strength of our organisation lies with the expertise and autonomy of our specialist investment managers, our ability to work collaboratively with clients to find solutions remains our focus.”
