Zurich Australia has picked up a new group life mandate, signing up Mercy Super effective from 1 August.

The insurer announced the mandate this week noting that it had been won as part of a competitive tender process.

It will see Zurich servicing the $1.7 billion fund with 13,000 members centred around employees of the Sisters of Mercy Queensland.

Explaining the selection of Zurich, Mercy Super cited the firm’s strong global brand and innovation, as well as the opportunity to provide a bespoke insurance offering to its members.

It said Mercy Super would also benefit from the opportunity to integrate Zurich with their administrator, GROW Admin Co.

The Mercy Super statement said the new partnership would give members access to Zurich’s market-leading health and wellness solutions such as its LiveWell app, its tailored rehabilitation services and the new My Wellbeing Hub, an information portal providing resources for both Mercy Super and its members.

Commenting on the appointment, Zurich head of Group Insurance, Darren Wickham said the insurer was delighted to be given the opportunity to provide the members of Mercy Super with peace of mind via great value insurance.
