Vanguard’s super leader, Michael Lovett, to depart

Vanguard Australia Head of Super, Michael Lovett, will leave the business at the end of February.

The company announced today that having led the successful launch of Vanguard Super to market in 2022 following a multi-year project to establish the fund, Lovett would be parting company with the business.

Lovett spent 11 years with Vanguard and was previously head of distribution.

Confirming Lovett’s impending departure, Vanguard Australia managing director, Daniel Shrimski said “Michael’s expertise, motivation and vision was instrumental in developing a superannuation fund which encapsulates Vanguard’s decades of expertise and experience in managing retirement savings to deliver on our mission to reshape super for the benefit of Australians and provide financial peace of mind.

“With the fund now up and running, Michael plans to take some time out before moving on to the next chapter in his career, and he leaves Vanguard with our thanks and best wishes for the future.”

He said plans for the succession of the role wee well progressed and announcement would be made soon
