CA ANZ appoints new board director

Seasoned board director, Peeyush Gupta, has joined Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand’s (CA ANZ’s) Board, effective from 1 July.
Gupta brings extensive experience as Chair of Charter Hall Long Wale REIT and Charter Hall Direct Property Management Ltd and non-executive Director of National Australia Bank, Special Broadcasting Service (SBS), Link Administration, NSW Cancer Council and Northern Territory Aboriginal Investment Corporation (NTAIC).
A Fellow with the Australian Institute of Company Directors (FAICD), Gupta is a member of several sub-committees in risk, audit, remuneration, technology and investment and is also the co-founder and CEO of IPAC Securities, a wealth management firm offering financial advice and institutional portfolio management services.
CA ANZ Board Chair, John Palermo, welcomed Gupta and his wide-ranging experience in corporate governance having served on corporate, not-for-profit, trustee and responsible entity boards.
“Peeyush Gupta is an excellent addition to the CA ANZ board. His governance experience from a range of different companies and boards, and his service to business which saw him awarded a Member of the Order of Australia (AM), will be an asset as we focus on delivering for our Members,” he said.
Gupta said he was looking forward to supporting the functions and professional standards of the representative body as it continues to serve its members.
“The profession has long been highly respected and maintaining trust is imperative,” he said.
“At the same time, the profession needs to evolve and consider how best to proactively address issues such as cyber security, and to embrace contemporary opportunities in AI and new technologies.
“As well as upholding the profession’s commitment to ethical behaviour and conduct, we need to support our Members through micro courses across areas that are key for their clients’ success.”
