HLB Mann Judd expands local presence via hires, acquisition

The Australasian arm of advisory and accounting network firm, HLB Mann Judd, has made several senior appointments and acquired Perth-based firm, A Plus Business Advisors, in the effort to strengthen its local team and business advisory capabilities.
The appointments see three individuals elevated to the role of partner in audit and assurance, including Alex Roberts, Alyce Stones and Jacob Medel, bringing auditing experience and expertise across private and public sectors, including mining, manufacturing, communications, construction, not-for-profit, health, disability, and the education sectors.
The firm’s Newcastle office has seen two promotions, with Anna Janssen now director of advisory services and Natalie Dobinson now director of audit and assurance, bringing a combined 45 years of experience across accounting and auditing particularly in the not-for-profit sector.
Rounding out the director promotions is Nilan Gandhi in the HLB Mann Judd Brisbane office and Steve Windsor in HLB Mann Judd Perth’s business advisory services team back in August. Trent Boncompagni was also promoted to associate in HLB Mann Judd Wollongong’s business advisory and taxation team.
The A Plus Business Advisors acquisition has also grown the firm’s business advisory division based in Western Australia to 30, and paved the way for a further two director appointments: former A Plus directors Garry Anderson and Maka Sikazwe.
“This growth gives us additional depth across several key areas and ensures we continue to offer tailored, practical advice to help our clients navigate the road ahead,” Rowan Tracey, Head of Business Advisory, HLB Mann Judd Perth, said.
“These new appointments and the Perth acquisition reflect the depth of talent within our network, and our ongoing commitment to investing in the next generation of leaders. As we continue to grow, our focus remains on delivering exceptional outcomes for clients and providing meaningful career opportunities for our people,” HLB Mann Judd Australasian Association chair, Tony Fittler, said.
