ASIC is under scrutiny. How do you think it is performing?

Blocks spelling out scrutiny

The Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) is facing scrutiny by multiple Parliamentary Committees and financial advisers have been asked to deliver their own verdict on the regulator.

The Financial Planning Association (FPA) has asked its members to contribute to its formulation of submissions to go before the Parliamentary committees and other associations have asked their members for similar input.

The committees inquiring into ASIC are the Parliamentary Joint Committee into Corporations and Financial Services and the Senate Economic Committee, with each having different terms of reference.

At the same, the House of Representatives Standing Committee on Economics is oversighting ASIC via a review of its annual report.

However, the common denominator for each of the Parliamentary committees  is whether ASIC is actually doing a good job.

Please give us your views on whether ASIC is doing a good job by completing this brief survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/8F927MK

ASIC have certainly negatively impacted the financial advice and life insurance industry. That alone is an indication of how well they have performed.
