Count takes stake in Victorian accounting firm

Count Limited has completed a strategic investment in Victoria-based accounting and advisory firm, Bruce Edmunds & Associates Pty Ltd, acquiring a 40 per cent equity position.
The stake in the family business that has been running for close to 60 years is the latest in a string of investments completed by the advisory network firm as part of its strategy to recognise and support high quality advisory firms.
“Bruce Edmunds & Associates has an enviable track record of delivering quality accounting services to clients and we are excited they are joining the Count community,” Hugh Humphrey, Count chief executive, said.
“This transaction supports our ambitious growth strategy and increases our market share in the accounting sector.”
Stephen Edmunds, Managing Director at Edmunds, said partnering with Count reflects the “strong cultural” alignment between the two businesses.
“Count’s client-centric values and sense of community resonated with us,” he said.
“We are passionate about collaborating with our peers, enabling us to share best practices and we will have greater opportunities to achieve this through Count.”
