Former Partner and Managing Director at Goldman Sachs, Andrew Rennie, has joined the Board of AreaWealth as Chairman, effective immediately.

The wealth management software platform provider announced Rennie will replace David Curtis, who will move into a non-executive director and board member role.

The previous Chief of Staff at Segantii Capital Management in Hong Kong and Executive Director at UBS Australia, Rennie has over three decades of experience and expertise in the financial services industry.

He will be responsible for managing AreaWealth’s growth strategy as the firm looks to cement its place as the “next-generation integrated investment technology” provider for advisers.

“I could see how perfectly positioned the company was to take advantage of the wealth management industry’s increasing focus on technology,” Rennie said.

“I would like to acknowledge David Curtis’s role in this and thank him for his contribution to the company.

“AreaWealth’s highly experienced executive leadership team has developed a technology solution for the advice industry that delivers significant time efficiencies and cost savings, ultimately leading to better outcomes for clients.”

Rennie also said AreaWealth was well positioned to assist financial advisers, dealer groups and other wealth managers to conduct innovative and digital-enabled business.

“The next 12 to 24 months will be transformative for AreaWealth as it attracts new investors to the business, grows its funds under management and evolves the wealth management industry,” he said.
