Both the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) and the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) are to get modest staffing increases from the Budget.

The Budget papers reveal that ASIC’s staff will grow from 1,947 last financial year to 1,998 in the current financial year, while APRA will grow from 815 to 846.

Unsurprisingly, the Financial Adviser Standards and Ethics Authority (FASEA) is now formally registered as having been reduced from 10 personnel to zero.
