AMP’s current director of people and culture Gillian Davie has been announced as Bravura’s next global HR and talent development chief.

Davie assumes the role left vacant following the departure of the wealthtech firm’s former chief people officer (CPO) Duncan Thomas last year. Thomas served just under 18 months in the role.

As CPO, Davie will be tasked with leading Bravura’s talent acquisition, retention and development functions.

Davie, an award-winning human resources leader, boasts a diverse and highly credentialled career in the people management space, spanning the financial services, technology, retail – including over a decade at Woolworths Group – and charities sectors.

She joined AMP Group in 2020 as director of people and culture, her most recent role, responsible for rebuilding the beleaguered firm’s brand and culture following its bruising at the 2018 banking and financial services Royal Commission.

Acknowledging Davie’s diversity of experience in people and culture management, both domestically and internationally, Bravura chief executive and managing director Andrew Russell said he was confident she would “bring a fresh perspective to evolve our people and culture strategy to deliver for our clients, and drive growth for our organisation”.

Russell said Davie joins at a “pivotal time” for the business as it seeks to “embed a client and product-centric culture across [its] 1,300 employees spread across 15 offices globally”.

Davie was selected by Human Resources Director Australia as part of the ‘2023 HR Global 100 Leaders to Know’ and ‘2024 The Best HR Executives in Australia – HR Hotlist’.

Set to join the firm’s Sydney head officer, Davie will report directly to chief executive Andrew Russell.

Bravura is one of Australia’s most prominent wealth technology developers, providing a range of managed services and software-as-a-service (SaaS) solutions to some of the world’s largest financial institutions in wealth, funds administration, pensions, and superannuation.
