Activam appoints deputy portfolio head

Boutique investment firm Activam Group has announced the appointment of Alex Crompton as deputy portfolio manager, tasked with overseeing the company’s investment team.
Activam hailed its latest senior recruit’s “wealth of knowledge and expertise” in the investment space, recognising Compton’s broad range of experience spanning investment research, portfolio management, analytical investment reporting, and client consulting.
“His experience will enhance the depth of the team in supporting the delivery of tailored and best ideas managed account solutions, further building on Activam’s innovative and functional investment management processes,” the firm said in a statement.
Compton most recently completed a two-year contract role at life insurer Resolution Life.
Across his 20-year career, he has also served stints at AXA, ING, and IOOF, as well as seven years as a senior consultant at global investment firm Northern Trust, based in its Melbourne office, as part of its investment risk and analytical services team.
Robert Talevski, managing director at Activam, said the firm was “delighted to welcome Alex to our growing team”.
“His expertise will undoubtedly contribute to the continued growth of Activam Group and reinforce our commitment to delivering exceptional investment solutions for our clients.”
The Melbourne-based Activam Group oversees more than $5 billion in funds under management, offering managed accounts, multi-asset portfolios, and asset management.
