Equity Trustees has been appointed responsible entity (RE) of Coller Capital’s newly launched secondaries fund.
The Coller Private Equity Secondaries Fund is an Australian managed investment scheme. Focused on the secondaries market, the fund promises greater liquidity than the traditionally ‘illiquid’ private market investments.
“The secondary market allows private markets participants, investors known as ‘limited partners’ [LPs] to exit early from their investment commitments, and managers, known as general partners, to create liquidity for their LPs,” says Francois Aguerre, co-head of investment and global head of origination at Coller Capital.
Aguerre added: “If and when investors priorities and strategies change over time, as they might – bearing in mind our market only churns around 2% of the overall stock – the secondary market allows them to exit their commitment before the end of the fund’s life and redeploy the proceeds.”
Available to both retail and wholesale investors, the new fund aims to provide investors with a combination of attractive absolute and risk-adjusted returns and diversification, as well as redemptions at NAV.
Equity Trustees’ EGM corporate and superannuation trustee services Andrew Godfrey said the firm was “delighted” to be selected as responsible entity for the new private equity secondaries fund, noting the potential of this “fast-growing asset class”.
Coller Capital partner and head of private wealth secondaries solutions Jake Elmhirst welcomed the launch of the fund, which he said: “capitalises on our extensive industry expertise and innovative strategies to offer private wealth investors a distinctive opportunity to access high-quality private assets in the secondary market.”
The Coller Private Equity Secondaries Fund debuted to investors on 1 October 2024.
Founded in 1990, Coller Capital is a secondary market specialist for private assets, providing liquidity solutions to private markets investors worldwide.
The London-based Coller Capital oversees $35 billion in assets under management (AUM).

Is it really a "balanced" option though...with 70% allocated to growth assets...
Yes AMP really do hate advisers and their actions for the last decade prove so. If you weren't tied to…
