Cooper Investors has announced expansion plans of its existing Sydney footprint, which will include opening a Sydney office, and has appointed Rebecca Morgan as its new Head of Intermediary Distribution.

In her new role, she will work closely with financial advisers, private bankers and asset consultants in a strategic expansion for the firm and will be responsible for driving growth in the private bank, wealth management, intermediary and independent financial advice market.

Morgan has more than 20 years’ experience in investment and financial services and has spent the past 14 years in senior sales roles at a range of firms including Regional Manager (Southern) at Pengana Group, Sales Director (Southern) at PM Capital and State Manager (Vic/Tas) at BT Financial Group.

She joined Cooper Investors from Ausbil Investment Management where she spent the past four years as the Key Account Manager for their Southern Region.

Regarding Cooper Investors’ Sydney expansion plans, its managing director, Rhys Cahill, said the firm was currently surveying office location options in the Sydney CBD and in preliminary discussions with potential personnel to cover the region.

“There is increasing demand for genuine, truly active investors who offer alpha and alternative investment opportunities to mainstream. Cooper Investors has proven investment performance over decades,” he said.

“Our eight pooled investment trusts are already highly valued in the region and very rewarding to long term investors. Our expansion in Sydney is an exciting strategic positioning designed to better serve our large number of existing clients and capitalise on the strong demand for Cooper Investors products and the broader opportunity the Sydney & NSW market offers.”
