Dexus promotes Industria REIT manager

Dexus Asset Management (DXAM) has promoted Gordon Korkie to Fund Manager of its Dexus Industria Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) (DXI).
Korkie has been with the funds management firm for seven years, most recently as Assistant Fund Manager of DXI. He brings experience in funds management, corporate finance and equities research to the role, specialising in property and equity capital markets.
He will commence in the new role on February 1st.
“Gordon’s appointment follows a rigorous internal and external search,” Jennifer Horrigan, Chair of DXAM, said.
“We believe his experience with Dexus Industria REIT, in addition to his prior experience with direct property and equity capital markets make him the right candidate to steer the fund into the future.
“His extensive existing knowledge of the DXI portfolio also ensures an orderly transition from Alex Abell as the outgoing fund manager.”
Korkie also worked for APN Property Group, Federation Centres (now known as Vicinity Centres), Credit Suisse and Aspect Huntley prior to joining Dexus.
“Gordon’s appointment demonstrates the depth of talent development that occurs within Dexus, and reinforces our commitment to succession planning across the group,” Darren Steinberg, DXAM chief executive, said.
“DXI offers an attractive investment proposition, delivering secure income from a high-quality industrial portfolio with a resilient balance sheet and is well placed to fund growth initiatives.”
