Dimensional’s high profitability trust enters Australian market

Australian investors will for the first time be able to access a Dimensional Fund Advisors trust that is exclusively dedicated to highly profitable global companies, with the firm announcing the local launch of the international equity vehicle yesterday.
The investment manager said the new Dimensional Global High Profitability Trust targets large capitalisation companies listed in developed markets outside Australia that meet its measures of high operating profitability.
Chief executive at Dimensional Australia, Bhanu Singh said the trust gives advisers and investors an enhanced toolkit to calibrate exposure to profitability alongside size and value premiums.
“This new Dimensional fund allows clients to fine-tune their exposure to companies with high profitability and build a customised exposure to size, value and profitability premiums,” he said.
“It’s another example of combining robust research with thoughtful daily implementation to deliver solutions designed to support our clients’ objectives.”
Dimensional said profitability has been embedded within its portfolios for more than a decade, following influential 2013 research by Robert Novy-Marx that found corporate profitability to be a persistent driver of differences in expected stock returns. The firm began incorporating the findings into its equity trusts from 2015.
Head of Client Group at Dimensional Australia, Nathan Krieger said the launch forms part of the firm’s continued expansion of its local offering in response to demand from financial professionals.
“For nearly four decades, Dimensional has built its investment offering thoughtfully and systematically, taking time to understand our clients’ evolving needs and identifying where we can add value, ultimately aiming for both a better investment experience and higher returns,” he said.
Headquartered in Texas, Dimensional has 15 global offices across North America, Europe, Asia and Australia and has been operating in Australia since 1994.
