Folkes joins RAM as senior distribution exec

Peter Folkes has joined Australian asset manager, Real Asset Management (RAM), as its new Head of Distribution, bringing close to 25 years of industry experience to the new role.
The industry veteran has held senior positions at Goldman Sachs, BT Investment Solutions and PwC, and will be responsible for directing RAM’s distribution strategies and managing core partnerships across all channels and markets.
“We are delighted to have someone of Peter’s calibre and experience join our team,” Scott Kelly, RAM Australia chief executive, said.
“His extensive knowledge and track record in distribution will be invaluable to RAM as we continue to grow our business and expand our client base. I am very much looking forward to Peter being a key member of our leadership team.”
The appointment comes as the firm’s total assets under management grew by more than 24 per cent year-on-year to $4 billion. This has been attributed to its Real Estate division with a diverse portfolio of Australian properties represented through its Australian Securities Exchange (ASX)-listed RAM Essential Services Property Fund (REP), an unlist4ed portfolio including the RAM Diversified Property Fund and several separately managed accounts (SMAs).
“I am excited to be joining RAM at this time and working with the team to continue its growth and success,” Folkes said.
“I look forward to growing RAM’s distribution channels and delivering exceptional value to investors.”
