Lonsec Fund of the Year Awards nominees announced

Lonsec and SuperRatings have announced the nominations for its 2022 Fund of the Year Awards, in recognition of the best-performing managed funds and superannuation products.

Now in its 20^th year, the Fund of the Year Awards will be the first in-person gala held in two years after the COVID-19 pandemic forced the event online.

Lonsec said it has also added new award categories to acknowledge the managed fund industry changes experienced over the last couple of years, with Lonsec Sustainable Fund of the Year and the Lonsec Innovation Award the first new categories for this year’s awards.

“We have introduced the new Lonsec Sustainable Fund of the year in recognition of the growing importance of this sector for both managers and investors,” Lorraine Robinson, Executive Director of Lonsec Research, said.

“We also want to recognise the great innovation and development taking place within the industry. As such we will recognise and celebrate fund managers who are at the forefront of striving to improve the offer for investors with the Lonsec Innovation Award.”

Kirby Rappell, Executive Director of SuperRatings, also said there were several achievements to celebrate within the superannuation industry at this year’s awards, despite experiencing persistent market volatility and pressure from regulatory bodies and watchdogs.
