Global law firm strengthens its finance offering

Global law firm, Ashurst, has announced it has bolstered its finance, funds and restructuring (FFR) offering with six new partner promotions.
This included Nicky Shaw and Emma Malone in Sydney, Rizaldy Tauhid in Jakarta, Stuart Blacklock and Sarah Winter in London, and Arnaud Julien in Luxembourg to partner, with effect from 1 May 2023.
They will be part of a 25-strong global cohort of new partners – a record number of promotions for the firm for the second year running.
Ashurst has promoted 25 new partners spread across 13 offices and 13 practices, with 60% in Asia Pacific and 40% in EMEA, a move driven by client demand, the firm said.

Nichola Shaw specialises in asset backed lending and corporate finance across a wide range of industries. She has extensive experience working with borrower and lender clients to structure appropriate financing solutions.
Emma Malone has experience in a broad range of finance transactions in the Australian and UK legal markets. She specialises in securitisation and structured finance.
Rizaldy Tauhid specialises in banking & finance transactions and his focus includes projects and infrastructure financing and debt restructuring and general banking. He advises clients on various toll road projects, major infrastructure and project finance transactions in Indonesia.
Stuart Blacklock has over 10 years’ experience acting for both sponsors and lenders in high value acquisition and development finance transactions, re-financings and senior and mezzanine debt financing secured over UK and European property.
Sarah Winter is based in the real estate finance practice, specialising in real estate investment, development and structured finance and advises across a wide range of asset classes. She has considerable expertise acting for all types of investors and lenders in relation to their finance requirements throughout the investment lifecycle and has particular responsibility for the real estate finance group’s interface with the firm’s commercial banks and financial institution clients.
Arnaud Julien advises domestic and international clients on all aspects pertaining to asset management as well as regulated and unregulated investment fund structures, focusing primarily on the private market / alternative investment fund space.
