Lazard appoints specialist across listed infrastructure, equity teams

Lazard Asset Management has appointed former Macquarie Asset Management and PGIM executive, Ben Price, as an Investment Specialist.
Price brings over two decades of experience in and knowledge of the asset management industry to the new Sydney-based role, where he will work with both the investment team for the Global Listed Infrastructure and Global Equity Franchise strategies and the distribution team to deliver for institutional, adviser and direct investor clients.
“Ben’s background and experience will enable us to strengthen our connectivity with clients and potential new investors in these strategies,” Paul Cuddy, Chief Executive Officer of Lazard Asset Management Pacific Co. and Head of Asia, said.
“We continue to invest in our outstanding Global Listed Infrastructure and Global Equity Franchise capabilities and are delighted to add someone to the team with such a track record of success.”
Price spent over 16 years at Macquarie, during which he was Head of Wholesale for its asset management arm, and most recently was Head of Australia Wealth at PGIM.
Both strategies have outperformed their benchmarks, with the Lazard Global Listed Infrastructure strategy returning 10.0 per cent p.a. and net of fees since its inception in 2005, while the Lazard Global Equity Franchise strategy has returned 13.7% since its inception in 2013, investing in listed companies considered to have “‘economic franchise’… [or] possess a combination of predictable earnings and large competitive advantages”.
