MA Moelis Australia expands research team

MA Moelis Australia has announced a boost to its equity research team with new hires in Melbourne and Sydney to help expand its equities platform that was established in 2010.
The company announced that Paul Hissey, who has over 20 years’ experience in the sector including analyst roles with Goldman Sachs and Royal Bank of Canada (RBC), will join as an executive director and will lead MA Moelis Australia’s equities expansion into natural resources sector.
He began his career as a geologist in mining operations and held several resource and production roles at BHP before transitioning to capital markets. He joined MA Moelis Australia after a period working in corporate management.
“Paul will be based in Moelis Australia’s Melbourne office, and we expect to expand this team further in the near term,” MA Moelis Australia’s Head of Markets, Simon Scott, commented on his appointment.
MA Moelis Australia has also welcomed back Tom Tweedie as Vice President who will be re-joining the small and mid-cap industrials research team in Sydney.
Tweedie is an experienced analyst holding similar roles at Bennelong Equity Partners and Platinum Asset Management.
