Global wealth management juggernaut Northern Trust has announced the creation of a new executive role to oversee its asset servicing business in Hong Kong.

Aisling Keane, a former head of alternative investment solutions of APAC, has been announced as Northern Trust’s head of asset servicing for the East Asia region, covering Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan.

As part of her new role, Keane will be responsible for overseeing the overall strategic direction of the group’s asset servicing business as well as providing solutions to clients.

Northern Trust recognised Keane’s more than two decades’ industry experience, including her most recent role at State Street, where she served just over five years between October 2016 and October 2021.

Prior to this, she was head of hedge fund services, APAC at BNP Paribas Securities Services, and director at Credit Suisse, where she served for just over two years.

Keane reports to Angelo Calvitto, Northern Trust’s head of Asia Pacific.

Calvitto recognised Keane’s “deep industry expertise, knowledge of the securities servicing industry, and business acumen” adding that the business’s latest senior recruit “will help us continue bringing value and expertise to the clients in the region and support their evolving needs”.

Northern Trust maintains offices across the Asia Pacific region, including in Beijing, Bengaluru, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Manila, Melbourne, Pune, Singapore, Sydney and Tokyo.

Globally, as of 30 June 2023, the NASDAQ-listed Northern Trust reports US$14.5 (AU$22.6) trillion of assets under administration and US$1.4 (AU$2.2) trillion assets under management.
