Perennial acquires 50% stake in Ziller Funds Management

Perennial Partners has expanded its line-up of boutique investment specialists after acquiring 50% of global equities outfit, Ziller Funds Management, spearheaded by former Maple-Brown Abbott portfolio manager, Joseph Ziller.
Ziller Funds Management brings its flagship Ziller Global Fund, first established in 2022, under the Perennial stable, offering investors access to a “concentrated portfolio of high growth companies run by exceptional founders”.
The deal sees Joseph Ziller, also as Chief Investment Officer, and other parties take on the other 50 per cent of equity in the business. The Ziller Global Fund is the latest to join Perennial, after the firm nabbed the Future of Healthcare Investment fund from Australian Unity in 2024 and the Melior Australian Impact Fund in 2025.
“We are delighted to welcome Joseph and investors in Ziller Funds Management to the Perennial stable. Perennial was attracted to Ziller as its investment capability offers the opportunity of meaningful value add, whilst investing in a concentrated portfolio of highly liquid stocks,” Anthony Patterson, Executive Chairman of Perennial Partners, said.
“We support the investment thesis of the Ziller Global Fund and recognise that the investable universe in this space is substantial. As it approaches its three-year track record, we believe that there is significant scope to accelerate the growth of the Fund.
“With Joseph leading the business, continuity of management and investment strategy is ensured and it will now have the substantial resources of Perennial to draw from.”
According to the firm, the Ziller Global Fund has returned net 41.6% per annum since inception.
“Perennial is a highly regarded investment management partner and the support it provides to specialist investment teams will enable the Fund to accelerate its capacity to invest in high growth global companies run by exceptional founders,” Joseph Ziller said.
“I’m really proud of the solid foundation we’ve established for the Ziller Global Fund since its inception in 2022 and its strong performance track record. As part of Perennial Partners, I look forward to taking the Fund to the next stage of its growth.”
