Prime Value adds flagship small caps fund to Netwealth, HUB24
Sydney-based boutique Prime Value has launched its adviser-geared emerging opportunities fund on the Netwealth and HUB24 platforms.
Catering the adviser and intermediary market, Prime Value’s Emerging Opportunities Fund (Class B) targets small caps companies with “higher quality business models and typically high growth potential”.
The fund offers diversified exposure to 25-50 high-quality and growing ASX listed companies, including significant holdings in industrials (28.8% of the fund), financials (19.0%) and consumer discretionary (13.5%) assets, while excluding investments in mining companies.
Prime Value boasts that the fund has outperformed both its benchmark indices – the Small Ordinaries Accumulation Index and Small Industrials Accumulation Index – for each of the last six years.
Since inception in 2015, the fund has delivered 11.5% in returns, as at 30 June 2024, 3.5% above its benchmark. Performance over the last 12 months has been even stronger, delivering 5.7% in excess of the benchmark.
The fund attracts a management fee of 1.25%.
Launched in 2015, Prime Value introduced Class B units in February this year, which is geared towards the adviser and intermediary market. The original Class A units invest to an 8% absolute return benchmark.
Prime Value’s head of distribution Mark Jordan welcomed the fund’s introduction on the Netwealth and HUB24 platforms, noting that “small cap stocks add an important element to investor portfolios providing exposure to attractive growth opportunities and diversification away from the typical holdings of a large cap portfolio”.
The Prime Value Emerging Opportunities Fund (Class A) is currently available on Netwealth, HUB24, uXchange, Mason Stevens, BT Panorama, Praemium, and AMP North.
Portfolio managers Richard Ivers and Mike Younger, he added, “undertake an intensive company visitation program and apply a thoughtful portfolio construction process to deliver a portfolio of high-quality companies”, Jordan added.
Prime Value Asset Management, a Sydney-based boutique, is part of an investment group including Shakespeare Property Group, which manages around $3 billion in equities, income securities, direct property and alternative assets in Australia.
