Russell muscles-up APAC division with high-profile appointment

Global asset management firm Russell Investments has appointed high-profile strategist Andrew Pease to a new Sydney-based role as head of investments for Asia-Pacific (APAC).
Peace, who joined Russell in 2006, currently serves as global chief investment strategist, based in the firm’s London office, and will relocate to Sydney in July to take on the new role leading its APAC investment division.
The role will see Peace driving solutions distribution across the region, working closely with local and global teams.
“His focus will include enhancing the alignment between global research and local portfolio needs, strengthening multi-asset capabilities, and helping clients navigate evolving market challenges with greater precision and insight,” Russell said.
Pease will and report directly to Russell’s head of Asia-Pacific, Jason Edgar.
Boasting more than three decades – including the last 20 years at Russell – in asset allocation, portfolio strategy, and macroeconomic research, Peace has been a “visible voice in global media for more than a decade”, Russell said.
Prior to joining Russell, he numerous roles at JP Morgan, Nomura Securities, and the Reserve Bank of Australia, and most recently at Macquarie Bank, where he served as funds management product specialist between 2004 and 2006.
Russell investments president and chief investment officer Kate El-Hillow recognised Peace as “a seasoned investor with a long history at Russell Investments and a deep understanding of global markets.”
“His appointment reflects our commitment to deepening regional expertise and better aligning our investment platform with client needs across the globe,” she added.
Headquartered in Seattle, with a global presence in 30 countries, Russell counts more than AU$533 billion in assets under management (as of 31/03/2025).
