Seasoned portfolio manager joins Munro

Seasoned funds management professional, Qiao Ma, has joined Munro Partners in the newly created Melbourne-based role of portfolio manager.
Ma brings 15 years of experience in financial services and investment, particularly in global long/short equities, having spent time at Melbourne-based Cooper Investors and close to a decade at New York hedge fund firms including Coatue Manageemnt and Jerico Capital.
“I have admired Munro from afar for years and I am deeply humbled by the opportunity to join the firm,” Ma said.
“I look forward to hunting for best long term investment ideas in global growth companies for our investors.”
Ma enters Munro’s nine-strong investment team and will work to develop new research and implement new ideas for the firm’s three strategies: the Munro Global Growth Fund, the Munro Concentrated Global Growth Fund and the Munro Climate Change Leaders Fund.
Ma will report to Munro’s Chief Investment Officer, Nick Griffin.
“We are delighted to have Qiao’s extensive experience and unique perspective to help bolster our global equities team,” Griffin said.
“Her long track record in identifying underappreciated, long-term, founder led stock opportunities, will be invaluable in helping Munro sustain fund performance and help grow our business in the months and years ahead.
“We look forward to welcoming Qiao into the Munro partnership and are excited that she has chosen to join us for the journey.”
