Capital Group push European ETF launch with new hire

Capital Group has appointed Jim Goldie to become its Head of ETF Capital Markets for Europe and Asia-Pacific, as the US$3.3 trillion asset manager prepare to enter the European ETF market.
The world’s largest active asset manager started the hiring process for its debut in the region in July last year but has not announced the launch date yet.
Goldie, who joins the group from Invesco after spending decade as International Head of Capital Markets, has previously held ETF capital markets specialist role at Vanguard and operational management positions at Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley.
He also currently serves as Chair of the European Fund and Asset Management Association (EFAMA) ETF Task Force and Co-Chair of the EU’s T+1 Governance Committee for Asset Management.
Head of ETF Product and Capital Markets at Capital Group, Scott Szever said the team was delighted to welcome Goldie to the firm.

Capital Group has stated that Goldie’s role will be based in London.
