AMP veteran joins SMSF Assoc in technical support role

Longstanding AMP technical support executive, John Perri, has joined the SMSF Association as Technical Manager to spearhead the delivery of its adviser accreditation program and development of CPD-related content.
Perri brings a wealth of expertise and experience after a 30-year stint with AMP, most recently serving as Head of Technical Strategy and leading its TapIn technical team.
SMSF Association chief executive, Peter Burgess, said Perri’s appointment seeks to boost its technical support capabilities as program enrolments and the demand for SMSF-specific services remain on the rise.
“Our members and the SMSF sector will benefit immensely from John’s extensive experience, technical knowledge, and background in adviser education,” he said.
“John is highly regarded across the financial planning profession, with a long history of presenting at industry conferences, including our National Conference.
“John’s appointment underscores our commitment to delivering high quality, best-in-class technical support and strengthening our voice in key policy debates.”
Perri’s responsibilities will cover the association’s SMSF Specialised Advisor (SSA) accreditation program and the development of its range of educational material and resources to provide over 100 CPD hours to members every year.
“I am delighted to join the Association at such a pivotal time for the sector,” Perri said.
“With significant reforms reshaping advice and retirement policy, I look forward to contributing to its mission of supporting members and advancing the SMSF sector through high-quality technical resources and guidance.”
