FEAL undergoes Board changes

The superannuation industry’s professional development body, the Fund Executives Association Ltd (FEAL), has announced the departures of two members of its Board of Directors and their replacements.
Retiring directors, Aware Super chief executive Deanne Stewart and Australian Ethical’s Chief Executive Superannuation Ross Piper, served as directors for 12 months and four years, respectively, and will be replaced by Aware Super’s Group Executive, People and Workplace Steve Hill and Rest’s Chief Risk Officer, Risk and Governance Gemma Kyle.
Hill boasts over 25 years of senior human resources (HR) experience at organisations including PricewaterhouseCoopers, ANZ Banking Group, Commonwealth Bank and Qantas. He currently manages a team of 70 staff at Aware Support who work to support, attract, retain and develop talent.
After spending time across several industries including financial services, engineering and government, Kyle joined Rest in 2018 and has also been a member of FEAL’s Program Committee since 2019. She is responsible for leading a team that services across the areas of strategic outsourcing, company secretariat, legal, audit, security, risk and compliance.
“The FEAL Board is committed to empowering world class leaders of not-for-profit superannuation funds by providing leading professional development and education, as well as deep connection opportunities,” Brian Delaney, Chair of FEAL, said.
“Steve and Gemma’s appointments reflect this. The executives we serve are specialists in their roles and having representation on the FEAL Board from across the different executive roles is part of our strategy to value to our members.
“We look forward to Steve and Gemma’s contributions to the FEAL Board and recognise and thank Deanne and Ross for their input.
“As FEAL has re-engaged and expanded its suite of events and offerings coming out of the COVID-19 pandemic, both Deanne and Ross’ considered contributions and insights have set us up well to continue to support today’s superannuation fund leaders.”
Hill and Kyle join the remaining directors, including Lisa Samuels, Chief Experience Officer at HESTA; Paul Watson, Group Executive Member Experience at Hostplus; Belinda Ray, Chief Audit Executive at AustralianSuper; Jo Townsend, CEO of Funds SA; Damian Wills, CEO of BUSSQ; and Chris Davies, CEO of TelstraSuper.
