AZ NGA buys HR company

AZ NGA has announced it has acquired outsourced human resources company, Catalina Consultants, as part of its expansion plans to deliver a range of business support solutions to its network of financial advisory and accounting firms.
This acquisition followed the company’s recent strategic stake in Australian-owned, Philippines-based paraplanning and back-office solutions provider, Vital Business Partners, and represented the group’s second investment in the business supply chain.
Since its inception in 2015, AZ NGA has completed over 130 transactions.
Catalina Consultants was established in 2012 and currently employs 17 human resources consultants, with key services including full-service HR function support, leadership development, organisational design and talent management, and remuneration strategising.
According to its founder and principal, Merilyn Speiser, the business has plans to expand into new areas such as recruitment and HR technology implementation while growing its presence in Victoria and Queensland.
“The business will continue to provide HR services to a broad range of companies in various industries and our focus is to help Catalina to expand its reach and relationships,” Paul Barrett, AZ NGA chief executive, said.
“This partnership also enables AZ NGA to secure capability and capacity for our network, which is increasingly important given the current skills and talent shortage.”
