Ex-GBST senior jumps into strategy role at self-licensing firm
Former Head of Client Partnerships at GBST, Ashley Mahadeea, has joined self-licensing and compliance services provider, My Dealer Services (MDS), to drive the firm’s growth as Head of Strategy.
Mahadeea brings extensive experience in strategic advisory services, particularly with fintech start-ups and companies at the growth stage, to develop their client offering and boost market presence.
Mahadeaa enjoyed the Head of Client Partnerships role at cloud-based financial planning software provider Advice Intelligence, which was eventually acquired by GBST in 2023, continuing his responsibilities for over 7.5 years in total.
MDS Director and founder, Alexander Euvrard, said Mahadeea’s experience working with financial advisers would provide a leading edge as the firm looks to grow its network of 500 businesses set up with their own Australian Credit Licence (ACL) or Australian Financial Services Licence (AFSL) in the 12 years since MDS was established.
“Ash’s role is to help drive this growth through strong client relationships, product innovation and developing solutions to advisers’ problems,” he said.
“Over the coming months, we will be reaching out to more advisers to share our core belief that self-licensing is nothing more than removing a layer to allow advisors and practices to run the business their way, with the client front and centre of everything they do.”
MDS also currently provides approximately 100 clients with compliance and business support services and access to a network of advisers, similar to a licensee dealer group.
