Coller Capital grows Australian presence with senior appointment

Private markets secondaries specialist, Coller Capital, has welcomed another senior wealth executive to its private wealth business channel with the appointment of Alexander Ordon as Director, Australia and New Zealand.
Ordon brings over two-and-a-half decades of experience and expertise in wealth management and with institutional clientele to the new role, having held previous senior roles at L1 Capital, J.P. Morgan Asset Management, Netwealth and Credit Suisse.
At Coller Capital, Sydney-based Ordon will be responsible for supporting its Private Wealth Secondaries Solutions business by building relationships with private wealth managers and family offices.
“We are thrilled to welcome Alex to Coller Capital. His deep understanding of the private wealth market in Australia and New Zealand, coupled with his strong relationships with private wealth investors, will be critical to our efforts to expand our offering,” David Hallifax, Head of Australia and New Zealand Private Wealth Distribution, said.
“The recent launch of our private equity and private credit secondaries funds in Australia reflects our commitment to the region and the growing demand for secondaries among private wealth investors.”
Ordon’s appointment follows the significant growth of Coller Capital’s Private Wealth Secondaries Solutions platform, which formed the foundations for its two new fund launches in the last six months: an Australian-domiciled private equity secondaries fund in late 2024 and a private credit secondaries fund in February.
“I’m excited to join Coller Capital, a recognised global leader in private markets secondaries. Private wealth investors in Australia and New Zealand increasingly seek solutions that require liquidity, diversification and risk mitigation,” Ordon said.
“Coller’s strong local presence and global expertise position us well to meet this growing demand. I look forward to working with our clients to help them access the firm’s different secondaries solutions.”
