Link appoints retirement & super products chief
Link Group, a wealthtech and platforms developer, has appointed Jonathan Shaw to head product development within its retirement and superannuation solutions (RSS) business.
As chief product officer of Link’s RSS business, Shaw will oversee the conception, development and go-to-market strategy for the division’s super- and retirement-focused product and platform set.
Link said Shaw will have a key role in ensuring these products “are benchmarked to exceed market equivalents”.
The division encompasses around 90 products, services and digital solutions, and spruiks itself as among the largest provider of services for Australia’s super fund administration.
Shaw steps over from Moneysoft, a Sydney-based wealth technology developer majority-owned by Link Group, where served more than five and a half years as chief executive.
Commenting on the group’s latest senior appointment, Link recognised Shaw’s more than 25 years’ experience “creating, developing and implementing digital products, software and technology solutions”, noting his considerable gained through its subsidiary, Moneysoft.
Prior to his roles at Moneysoft, where he commenced around the time of the organisation’s founding in 2012, Shaw also held senior positions at DeployPartners, IBM Australia and Micromuse.
Link RSS chief executive Dee McGrath, to whom Shaw will report, welcomed her new product chief as a “proven change agent and innovator with a bias for action”.
“This appointment brings strong digital and product experience that leverages technology and innovation to deliver outcomes for our clients, their members and stakeholders,” McGrath said.
“State-of-the-art technology requires constant innovation to stay ahead of the market, and this new appointment presents a fantastic opportunity to deliver leading solutions, integrated platforms and solutions that solve for the best outcomes in retirement for our clients.”
Shaw said he welcomed the opportunity to set the strategic direction for RSS’s product and platform development.
“This new role will allow me to build, refine and improve our product strategy and design from beginning to end, to better deliver for our clients, their members, employers and advisers,” Shaw said.
