Data and technology provider, Novigi, has deepened its partnership with Mercer to become the technology partner of the firm’s Wollongong-based business, creating over 90 jobs in the Illawarra region.

With an initial collaboration established in 2019, the recent partnership will see Novigi include the Mercer Wollongong Technology team into its operations from 1 May to form a combined team of over 170 people – 100 of which will be working from Novigi’s new data hub in the region.

Novigi CEO, Ash Priest, said the partnership extension signals the firm’s commitment to both updating legacy systems and strategies and preparing more traditional organisations for such changes.

“Today, Novigi is working hard to drive change in an environment where modern data strategies and other disruptive technologies are leading to the rapid unbundling of traditional member servicing models and offerings,” he said.

“The work we are doing is leading to greater efficiencies and improved customer relationships for our clients throughout the superannuation and funds management ecosystem. This period of change in the sector has created the perfect operating space for Novigi and our nimble but focused data and technology services.

“Superannuation funds face ongoing regulatory change and cost pressures. By outsourcing data and technology functions to expert data and technology providers, like Novigi, we’re helping industry decision-makers better manage data and to automate more efficient – and cost-effective – processes and customer experiences.”

Mercer Pacific’s Chief Operating Officer, Claire Ross, said she was pleased with the partnership and it is a great outcome for both the team and clients.

“We have been working with Novigi since 2019 and are delighted to extend our partnership,” she said.
