IMAP announces MA award winners

The Institute of Managed Accounts Professionals (IMAP) has announced the winners of the six categories of the 2022 IMAP Managed Accounts Awards.
The awards, judged by a panel of independent researchers and specialists, covered categories including Licensee Managed Accounts, Australian Equities, Australian Equities Small Cap, International Equities, Multi Asset and newly added Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG).
Morgan Stanley Wealth Management Australia took out the Licensee Managed Accounts award, while DNR Capital won in the Australian Equities category and Macquarie Asset Management won the Australian Equities Small Cap award. The winner in the International Equities category was Franklin Templeton and MLC Asset Management in the Multi Asset category.
Lonsec took out the inaugural award in the ESG category.
“We had a record number of entries this year,” Toby Potter, IMAP Chair, said on behalf of the judges.
“The number of entries is a testament to the increasing depth and range of managed account services which advisers have access to in their advice process. It was a very close contest in each of the categories.
“We wish to congratulate the winners in each of the awards categories… The development of the ESG category with support from Australian Ethical recognises how important this aspect of investment management has become.
“In particular, the strength of the Licensee Category recognises the breadth of use of managed accounts. Evaluation this year was enhanced with analysis of each portfolio using the BlackRock Aladdin risk and factor tools.”
The judging panel convened by IMAP included Brad Matthews, David McDonald from IMAP, Dominic McCormick who founded Select Asset Management, Nigel Douglas from Douglas Funds Consulting, Rob da Silva from SQM Research and Toby Potter.
