Seasoned exec joins Bell Potter corporate finance team

Former Managing Director and founder of Pengana Capital Group’s capital markets division, Phil Schofield, has joined Bell Potter Securities as a Director.
Bell Financial Group announced the appointment of the industry veteran within Bell Potter’s corporate finance team on Wednesday, just 18 months after he was hired from his role as Executive Director at Canaccord Genuity Australia to establish the new department.
Group Head of Corporate Finance, James Unger, welcomed Schofield to the team and said his “wealth of experience” was a key driver behind the appointment and would be of great benefit to Bell Potter’s corporate clients.
“Phil has over 30 years of capital markets and advisory experience and sound judgement,” Unger said.
“His deep expertise in structuring successful deals, combined with his extensive network, make him an excellent addition to our team as we continue to grow and strengthen our corporate advisory capability.”
Schofield’s other previous roles include Director at McIntosh Securities, Managing Director and Co-Head of Equity Sales at Citibank/Salomon Smith Barney/County NatWest, Executive Director and Head of Global Sales at Goldman Sachs Australia and Executive Director and Head of Equities at Patersons Securities prior to its acquisition by Canaccord Genuity.
“I’m looking forward to working with our clients as they navigate strategic growth opportunities and capital raising initiatives,” Schofield said.
