FAAA appoints new marketing head
The Financial Advice Association Australia (FAAA) announced John Summerhays has stepped into the role of Head of Marketing and Communications.
Summerhays will be responsible for spearheading the association’s marketing and communications team in several initiatives and engagement activities for consumers and members, including raising awareness of the value of financial advice and the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) program.
“John’s highly relevant background and experience, including wealth products, professional services and financial advice, make him a perfect fit for this important role,” FAAA chief executive, Sarah Abood, said.
Summerhays brings close to two decades of marketing experience in financial services and wealth management to the new role, having recently worked in and eventually led PageGroup’s marketing team from 2017 to 2023.
He also spent 11 years at BT Financial Group prior to PageGroup, where he was responsible for marketing activities of the firm’s products and services across financial advice, life insurance, superannuation, and private wealth.
