Research and ratings house Lonsec has picked up the research advisory mandate for the newly independent Godfrey Pembroke in a move which will see a Lonsec investment consulting team member appointed to the investment committee.

Lonsec’s appointment followed Godfrey Pembroke surveying the investment research market and represents a continuation of the relationship which existed while the planning group sat under the Insignia Financial umbrella.

Commenting on the decision, Godfrey Pembroke chief executive, Mark Fisher said the group’s model was largely an outsourced vendor relationship which made choosing the right vendors key.

“We chose to continue our long standing relationship with Lonsec due to the depth and breadth of their research as well as the professionalism of the researchers and  analysts,” he said.

“During the transition out of Insignia, the support the Lonsec team provided was top notch and we are delighted to continue this relationship.”

Lonsec chief executive, Michael Wright said his firm was delighted to continue as the research and investment partner for Godfrey Pembroke.
