Australian Ethical welcomes new private markets head
Former Global Head of Strategy at Macquarie Group, Adam Roberts, has joined the ranks at Australian Ethical as its new Head of Private Markets.
Roberts brings over 20 years of investment experience to the new role, where he will be responsible for the manager’s Infrastructure Debt Fund and private markets portfolio worth over $1 billion across private equity, infrastructure, real estate, private credit, and venture capital.
The fund plays a key part in financing Australian projects in renewable energy, social infrastructure and property with a positive social or environmental benefit. Roberts will also spearhead the development and implementation of new private markets products and solutions to address the investment needs of wholesale and institutional clients.
“Adam’s expertise in private markets aligns perfectly with our mission to invest for a better world for people, animals, and planet and deliver strong long-term returns,” Australian Ethical CIO, Ludovic Theau, said.
“Adam has hit the ground running and over the coming months will further bolster our private markets offer targeting infrastructure and renewable energy projects that align with focus on long-term sustainable growth.”
Roberts previous roles include Global Head of Strategy at Macquarie Group and other senior roles at Cerberus Capital Management. He will report to Theau in the new role.
