Fidelity International country head exits, successor selected
Fidelity International has announced the departure of Lawrence Hanson from the role of Managing Director, Australia, with Simon Glazier appointed to take over from 1 September.
Glazier first joined Fidelity in 2020 to lead its wholesale arm in Australia, having since spearheaded the development of a range of new products and solutions to meet client needs.
As the new Managing Director, Australia, Glazier will be responsible for continuing the firm’s growth and strategy delivery for its Australian client base.
“I am delighted to appoint Simon to lead our Australian business into the next phase of its growth,” Rajeev Mittal, Managing Director, Asia Pacific (Ex-Japan) at Fidelity International and Glazier’s new direct report.
“Fidelity International has been supporting clients and investors in Australia for more than 25 years and it remains an important market for us. Under Simon’s leadership, we will continue to bring the best of Fidelity’s global research, capabilities and solutions to our clients in Australia.”
Glazier brings over 25 years of experience across the financial services and investment management spaces to the new role. Prior to joining Fidelity and during his five years at Ellerston Capital, Glazier was appointed as Head of Intermediary Sales & Marketing; he has also enjoyed several other senior positions at Colonial First State, Perpetual Investments and ING Australia.
Lawrence Hanson was first appointed to the executive role on 1 October 2022, replacing former Managing Director Alva Devoy as she returned to the United Kingdom after eight years at the firm’s Australian helm.
