PM Capital expands distribution team with two hires

PM Capital has expanded its distribution leadership team, appointing two regional heads as the boutique investment manager looks to lift adviser engagement and broaden its national footprint.
The Sydney-based manager announced on Wednesday that Derrick Thomson has joined the firm as regional manager for Victoria and Tasmania, while Jarrad Sundqvist has been appointed regional manager for South Australia and Western Australia.
PM Capital’s head of retail distribution Luke Cheetham said the appointments reinforce the firm’s commitment to support advisers navigate complex investment markets and build strong investment propositions for clients.
“Derrick and Jarrad bring extensive experience supporting advice businesses and will play an important role in helping advisers access PM Capital’s investment capabilities and expertise,” Cheetham said.
“Their appointments strengthen our ability to support advisers across key markets as they seek differentiated investment opportunities and portfolio solutions for clients.”
The firm said the hires are part of its ongoing investment in adviser relationships and distribution capability, amid growing demand for differentiated global and Australian equity strategies and global credit solutions.
It added that Thomson and Sundqvist will further strengthen PM Capital’s support for advisers and wealth management professionals across their respective regions.
“In their roles, they will help advisers with portfolio construction, investment education and access to PM Capital’s investment capabilities, while assisting them to navigate market conditions and identify opportunities for strengthening investment solutions and client portfolios,” it said.
“The appointments increase PM Capital’s national distribution footprint and support the firm’s ongoing focus on delivering high-quality adviser engagement, education and investment expertise.”
