Allianz Retire joins CALI
The Council of Australian Life Insurers (CALI) has broadened its membership base with retirement income specialist Allianz Retire+ joining its ranks as a full member.
The sign-on of Allianz Retire+ comes just over two years following the organisation’s creation as a dedicated life insurance industry representative body, ending the life insurers’ long-running representation by the Financial Services Council.
It brings the number of CALI’s full members to 20 and is significant because of Allianz Retire’s leadership in terms of retirement incomes.
CALI chief executive, Christine Cupitt described Allianz Retire’s membership as “a milestone”.
She said the new addition to CALI’s membership demonstrated the peak body’s dedication to expanding its member network and ensuring Australians view the life insurance industry as accessible, understandable and trusted.
Allianz Retire+ chief executive, Adrian Stewart said being a full CALI member provided his firm with “a unique platform to engage with our industry peers, shape and advocate for policy reform and drive positive change”.
Allianz Retire’s parent company, Allianz is a member of the Insurance Council of Australia which is closely allied to CALI.
CALI started off with a membership of nine of Australia’s major life insurers meaning its membership list has doubled in a little over 18 months.
