David Whiteley named new ACSI president

Former Industry Super Australia stalwart, David Whiteley has continued his rise and rise in the sector with his appointment as president of the Australian Council of Superannuation Investors.
Whiteley, who led the aggressive prosecution of the ‘compare the pair’ campaign more than a decade ago was named as president and successor to the outgoing chief executive, Debby Blakey.
Whiteley joined the board of ACSI last year representing IFM in his role as Global Head of External Relations.
Commenting on appointment, ACSI chief executive, Louise Davidson said Whiteley would bring his expertise in responsible investment. And a strong history of working collectively to his role as ACSI president.
Commenting on his appointment, Whiteley said he is proud to take on the role.
“Strong governance and responsible stewardship by long‑term investors is always essential, and in times of global turbulence, it’s even more important funds work to protect investment value for the millions of working people ACSI’s members serve,” Whiteley said.
