Former APRA deputy chair joins ART board

The woman who sat at the centre of the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority’s (APRA’s) superannuation fund performance heatmaps, Helen Rowell, has been appointed to the board of the Australian Retirement Trust (ART).
Rowell’s appointment was announced alongside that of former Treasury secretary, Martin Parkinson.
ART chair, Andrew Fraser said the appointments reflected the changing needs of the fund as it helps more members than ever to retire well with confidence.
The board appointments follow on from ART appointing former Mercer chief commercial officer, David Anderson, being appointed as chief executive following the retirement of Bernard Reilly.
Parkinson is currently on the board of the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA).
Parkinson and Rowell replace Georgina Williams and Michael Traill.
